A Great Couple of Days

This week is off to a great start!!

I managed to get in a 2k walk and I did some strength training too.  I haven't eaten after supper and I have not been hungry.

I said I wasn't going to weigh myself until next Monday BUT I joined a Biggest Loser Challenge on Facebook so I had to weigh and take a picture of the scale to start the challenge which began today.  It runs until May 8.  Guess what??  I lost 1.5 lbs.  That is a great motivator! Seriously!

I'm eating more "real" food...veggies, fruit, whole grains.  Drinking lots of water!

I gave up Pepsi 42 weeks ago.  I was addicted to say the least.  I hardly drink any pop at all now.  I could count on one hand how much pop I've had in the last 2-3 months.  I'm glad I have that hurdle behind me now.

Week 2 - Day 2

So, I really need to come up with some more creative post titles. :)

So far so good this week.  I went for a 2k walk yesterday down hill and then back up.  Walking back up is never as much fun as walking down.  I passed up an opportunity to get a drive back up.  I knew the guilt wouldn't be worth it so I hoofed it back up on my own strength.

I ate my 3 meals & snacks yesterday and I didn't eat after supper.  I was tempted to.  I work the evening shift at a restaurant so it would have been soo easy to cave and have the hamburger I wanted.  My co-worker had a cheese burger & onion rings...I just wanted a hamburger.  I almost began rationalising that a hamburger would be much better than a cheese burger & onion rings. Funny how we humans try to do that.  Anyway, I know how many points the white bun alone would be plus it was about 7:00 pm at that time.  I promised myself that if I was still craving a hamburger today I would have one for lunch and use WW bread instead of a bun.  Well, the craving passed.  Today, I made chicken, oven baked "french fries" (potatoes cut and baked in the oven) & peas for lunch.

The walk yesterday really boosted my motivation so I think I am going to hit the hill again today.  I think the fresh air really got to me.  I came home from work & went straight to bed as I was so tired.  I hope I'm not too sleepy tonight because The Biggest Loser starts tonight and I really want to watch all 2 hours of it.

Week One Wrap Up

I'd say this week has been less than perfect but I have realised a few things...

*  I love to eat out.
*  I need to eat more fruit & veggies.
*  I need to exercise. ( I only exercised once this week)
*  I need to pay attention to how I spend my points.

I'm not going to weigh in tomorrow.  I know the results will not be what I want but it will be equal to the effort I gave.

So, I am getting back up and approaching this week with more optimism and taking the lessons learned to hopefully have a better and more successful result.

Beginning Stats

I'm only 5'3".

My current weight is 197.

I have a BMI of 34.89...Obese class 1...Yikes!

Day 5 on Weight Watchers

So, here I am on day 5.  I haven't done too bad.  I wouldn't say things have been easy but I also wouldn't say they've been horrible.  Challenging could best describe it.

On the positive side, I've been eating breakfast, trying my best to not eat too late at night, saving money by taking my lunch to work and paying a bit more attention to what I'm eating.

I still need to work on fighting cravings like chocolate, making exercise a priority & eating more fruits and veggies.

I'm not sure what Monday's weigh in is going to bring.  Fingers crossed.  No matter what the scale says I am gonna keep on keeping on.

Day 1 with Weight Watchers

I am welcoming 2012 with much optimism!!

I feel like this is the year to finally accomplish my weight loss.

Today was my first day with Weight Watchers...kinda.  I haven't joined but I bought the Points Plus calculator, Food Companion, Dining Out Companion & 3-month tracker.

So far, so good.

I am allowed 28 daily points.  Daily points can't be saved and rolled over to the next day.
I am also given 49 weekly points I can use as back up if I go over my daily points or I can use them if I have something special like a party or potluck.

I love that most fruits and veggies are 0 points!

I used all of my 28 points today and I don't feel deprived at all.

I'm excited to weigh in next Monday to see the results.

My current weight is 197 lbs. Way too much for my 5' 3".

My short term goal is 190 lbs and my long term goal is 140 lbs.

The is a 5k marathon taking place in mid May that I would love to try.  I am not a runner...yet.  We'll see.
